About the event

Join Brenda Clements for a 3 week yoga experience. This experience will include three, 1 hour classes of Yin restorative yoga. 

Class 1: Thursday April 11th, 730pm to 730pm

 -Theme - Happiness - poses target - heart, lungs, intestine

Class 2: Thursday April 18th, 630pm to 730pm

  - Theme - Relaxation - poses target - liver gallbladder

 Class 3: Thursday April 25th, 630pm to 730pm

 - Theme - Anchoring - poses target Full Body.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is unique in that

you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscle and move closer to the bone, Yin offers a much deeper access to the body. It is not uncommon to see postures held for three to five minutes, even 20 minutes at a time. The time spent in these postures is much like time spent in meditation. This intimate practice of yoga requires students to be ready to get intimate with the self, with feelings, sensations, and emotions. It also teaches stability something much of which is a benefit of meditation, basically “learning to sit still.” Yin often “digs” deeper than one has ever gotten otherwise. It is encouraged for students to try a Yin class three or four times to really make a decision about the practice. Many find immediate benefits like more open hips, a more relaxed body and centered mind.

A little about your Yoga Teacher:

"I have practiced yoga for many years and decided when retiring in 2014 from over 30 years as a schoolteacher, to extend my practice by becoming a certified yoga teacher.  I discovered a love for Yin and Restorative yoga and decided to pursue more training in this area. Restorative and yin yoga poses are designed to open the body in a gentle and comfortable way."
